Our Beneficiaries

This year Magnacon starts out by working to benefit two groups:

Whittier Community Center
Located two miles north of downtown Denver, the Whittier Community Center serves a diverse population of families. Whittier resident volunteers are in need of equipment to expand offerings at the Community Center to include movie nights, game days, classes and other programs.
Food Bank of the Rockies
The Food Bank of the Rockies serves Northern Colorado and Wyoming, providing food supplies to more than 1000 hunger-relief programs. In its first 30 years, FBR has provided nearly 325 million pounds of food to its member agencies, which translates to more than 250 million meals for people in need.

100% of MAGNACon proceeds will go toward improvements at the Whittier Community Center and other community projects. The Convention Co-Chairs are very hard at work ensuring that the convention is run at minimal expense. (Stay tuned to this page after MagnaCon for a rundown of money raised, expenses, etc.) With the help of generous volunteers and the support of local and national donors, we are meeting this goal.

The Community Center's wishlist can be found here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/registry.html?ie=UTF8&type=wishlist&id...

Convention-goers are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items and will have the opportunity to earn prizes and other incentives. Stay tuned to www.MAGNAConDenver.com for more details. All food items will be donated to Food Bank of the Rockies.

All money collected, minus expenses, will be going to these groups. In addition, we'll have a collection barrel for food donated to the Food Bank.
